Even though its only been 6 days since I last posted it feels like AGES. [Probably because I have almost nothing prepped for this week and I’m behind like crazy.]
This weekend I got destroyed by the stomach flu (which we originally thought was food poisoning). I can’t remember a time I’ve ever been that sick and it was absolutely miserable. Thankfully I’m on the upswing, but I’m still moving slow, getting nauseous almost every time I eat, and just the thought of lifting weights is exhausting. Since we’re short-staffed, I had to teach SPIN this morning, but I’m so weak I just perched myself on the bike and gave directions. Luckily, all the students are so sweet and totally understood.
Both fortunately & unfortunately, my mom was visiting this weekend. While its wonderful to have your mom to help take care of you (even when you’re supposed to be an adult), I felt so bad because we missed the Malibu Wine Safari. Luckily, we had the whole day to explore Friday before I got really sick, and I rallied on Sunday to show her Corona del Mar, Laguna Beach and The Cannery. She did get to see Balboa Island, ride the ferry, explore Newport Beach, and see some of our favorite spots though.
The ONLY good thing about this flu? It kicked my Starbucks habit. Since it was one of the last things I consumed before getting sick, I have zero desire for it. (My bank account is rejoicing).
I’m going to keep this short & sweet today, but I will have regular posts up Wednesday and Friday this week. Fingers crossed I’m feeling good enough to get back into a normal routine by Thursday/Friday. If you have any magical tips for feeling better post flu, please please please send them my way.
