This week I wanted to focus on holiday-inspired looks that could easily transition to the rest of the year.
As much as I love the glitz and glam of every sequined dress out there (not one to shy away from sequins if you remember this) , this year I opted to focus on pieces that could work all year round. I actually purchased this lace tiered dress (here is a similar option) and the jumpsuit I’ll be sharing in Friday’s post with the intention of wearing them for a bachelorette party I have in February, and figured it would be fun to style them for Christmas & New Year’s festivities as well.
You really can’t go wrong with an LBD, and I always try to find black dresses (+jumpsuits) that incorporate pretty fabrics or cool textures to make them stand out from the rest. Intricate embroidery, lady-like lace, or even a simple ruffle (like this from Zara for $23!) immediately up the ante with a black dress.
If you remember, I highlighted velvet pumps in a splurge vs. save post a few weeks ago, and I am wearing the Old Navy “save” pair. I wore them to work last week and lasted in all day in them, so they have my stamp of approval. I recently found a two “save” pairs at Target as well (here) & (here) if you’re looking for a little bit of velvet for under $40.
You’ll be seeing this dress again I’m sure – I’m thinking over the knee boots, tassel earrings & a colorful crossbody for Nashville in February (temperatures pending) – what do you think?
Have a wonderful day & thanks for reading!
